Rugs weaving craft has a long history of development. There are many different types of rugs - most of them are really hard and need a lot of skill to make. But among all the types of rugs there are several types that are easy to make - the process of weaving of these rugs is so simple that you can easily make them at home.
Braided rugs are one of them. But do not be confused with all this simplicity of making braided rugs; although making braided rugs is a simple process they are good, durable and beautiful rugs. And making braided rugs you can fully express all your designer skill.
The whole process of making of braided rugs can be divided into several stages.
At the first step of making braided rugs some sort of fibers has to be braided to form long stripes. At the second step these stripes can be colored in case you did not find the fiber of color you want to use in your braided rugs (synthetic fibers are easier to dye-color so it is better to use them making braided rugs).
At the final step these stripes are being weaved together to form braided rugs. Instead of stripes of fibers you can use old clothes cut into stripe. It was so in first braided rugs ever made. People needed to reuse as much things in their household as possible so they started to make braided rug from their worn clothes.
As you can see the process of making braided rugs is very simple and almost anyone can handle it so it can outgrow into very interesting hobby. But be careful because making braided rugs can easily swallow up all your spare time.
