History of rugs making craft is very long and dark. It is not known for sure where the first rug was made. Some people believe that rugs making started somewhere in Mongolia while others are sure that first were made in Persia.
Different types of rugs are used these days. Some of them are indented for decoration purposes - rugs are a perfect material for designer - they can change the mood of the home entirely. But not all type of rugs are appropriate is an intense use is supposed. In such cases you should use shag rugs for example.
Shag rugs are made of strong materials so to give them longer life and allow them to handle high traffic. Materials can be natural (wool for example) of synthetic (like nylon) and even mixtures of several materials can be used in shag rugs. In most cases shag rugs are made in a way of sandwich to give them even more durability.
This complex several layer structure gives shag rugs some wonderful properties.
The bottom of shag rugs is made of water-resistant material, which does not absorb water so to protect shag rugs in rooms with high humidity (like bathrooms). The upper layer of shag rugs is made of material that is easy to clean so to make your shag rugs stain-protected.
That is a usual construction of shag rugs but sometimes one or several in-between layers can be also included in shag rugs - they make shag rags more flexible and give the some other interesting properties.
Thanks to their materials and complex construction shag rugs are very easy to maintain and clean. The only thing that you need to remember is to clean your shag rugs regularly otherwise dirt can penetrate deep into pile and it will be difficult to clean it out.
